Nanny Duties:
Nannies provide care and supervision for the children, while working within the parent’s guidelines and routines. Their main objective is to ensure the children are safe, well cared for, healthy and engaged. The responsibilities will vary from household to household, the number of kids, ages of the kids, their individual needs and each family’s expectations. Typical duties for a nanny are playing games, reading, outdoor activities, outings to parks, libraries, playgroups, etc. The nannies can feed/prep/cook light meals and snacks for the children, bathe children and help with light child related housekeeping.
Nanny Compensation:
Compensation varies and will depend on several factors such as the nanny’s experience, education level and your family needs. Current rates for professional nannies are between $28-$38 per hour for Full-time nannies and $25–$35 per hour for Part-time nannies. Hourly rates are negotiable between nanny and family. If you have twins, infants under 6 months or children with special needs, the hourly rate would be on the higher end of the scale.Full-time childcare providers are paid 52 weeks per year. If your nanny is available to work, but you do not require their services, they should still be paid their normal wages. Part-time nannies receive paid holidays (if it falls on a day they normally work) and guaranteed hours. They should be paid for days when they are normally scheduled to work even if you don’t need them that day/week. Full-time and Part-time nannies should be paid as a W2 employee with taxes taken out. We can suggest some reliable nanny tax payroll companies.
